Making a Difference....

Epiphany Medical Missions in Eastern Europe

After the dissolution of the Soviet Union, many residents of former Soviet bloc countries have been left with limited means and limited access to healthcare. Many children are abandoned or roam the streets and have no homes to return to, they live in poor conditions wherever they can find a place out of the weather. The Epiphany Medical Missions team is establishing medical clinics in Eastern Europe to attend to the needs, physical and spiritual, of these people.

Currently, EMM has established a social center with a health clinic, and a few miles away, a farm program where some of the street children can go to live and work and learn valuable trade skills.

How are we making a difference? In one three month period, 3000 visits were made by homeless children to the EMM social center and clinic. 300 children regularly visit the center and benefit from hot meals, showers, recreation, clothing, medical, and psychiatric help. During this time, 49 street children were re-united with their families; 40 were put in permanent shelters including four in the Miles Jesu Boys’ Town; and another 40 were rehabilitated in temporary shelters; 39 children were hospitalized and 200 given medical treatment.
