“Many times i reflect on why God has chosen us to do this work – to take care of many of His children who are materially poor and spiritually poor. One of the ideas that comes to my mind often is that God is sharing. He doesn’t need us. He is self-sufficient. However, He allows us to be his ambassadors. He allows us to bring his love to others through the work of our hands. This is a great act of God’s mercy because through caring for those who are less fortunate than us we learn how to love.
What is love? Unfortunately, our society teaches a false love, especially to the youth – “love” that is only associated with my own pleasure. Working with the Epiphany Medical Missions has helped us to come to a better understanding of what love really is. It’s waking up in 100 degree temperatures every morning with little food, no running water or electricity, going out to the village to take care of many people who are living in horrible conditions, without lunch, with no time for a break because you’d rather give that time to a sick child who is crying from pain. Praise God! Thank you Jesus that i can do something for these people who still have it a hundred times more difficult than i do.”
The Medical Missions team works in India to bring quality healthcare to the poor. Often times these people live in unsanitary, awful conditions and are too poor to afford treatment for even minor problems.
