Medical Missions Update

Educating the local volunteers and patients about healthThe EMM is headed up by Dr. Pavel from the Miles Jesu Brno community, who left his full-time work at the hospital to dedicate himself to this project, and by pharmicist Eric from the Miles Jesu Chicago community. Both Dr. Pavel and Eric experienced a profound conversion during their medical studies and joined Miles Jesu at the beginning of their respective medical careers.

Dr. Tomas left his full-time work at the hospital in his home town and joined Miles Jesu in 2002. He will also be working with the EMM team. There are still many generous young men and women around the world, who are willing to follow the example of Christ and give themselves totally to God through the Blessed Mother with the vows of poverty, chastity and obedience, becoming instruments of grace and mercy for the world.

Recently a large donation of medical equipment was given to the EMM, including two complete surgery room equipment sets and much more, from a Swiss Army base that closed down. The value of the equipment donated is well over $20,000 and everything is brand new. This equipment is destined for the clinic in Ukraine and we are very close to getting it there, at no charge, through another charitable transport. Praise be to God as we are starting to see some progress!

The EMM also recently received good news from the clinic in India. There is another doctor volunteering and the clinic is now open two days a week instead of one. They are treating about 40 patients per week from the nearby slums which has about 150,000 people. As you can see, we really need to develop the clinic into a hospital. We are working hard to do this, especially since there is very little sense of charity and helping the poor among the Hindu people who make up seventy percent of the population.

Please continue to support our work with your prayers and your financial gifts. May God bless you for your generosity.
